Yes Africa Coalition is a non profit organization whose mission is to end poverty, disease and
corruption in Africa by confronting indifference wherever it may be
found, and doing whatever it takes to educate, equip, and mobilize
people to make a difference.
Africans are special people, and many Africans are doing quite well and are very capable of taking care of themselves, and prospering. However, it is also a fact that Africa is in crisis. Thousands of people are needlessly dying each day in Africa. Children are being turned into orphans from the effects of AIDS at a staggering rate. AIDS is a leading killer in Africa, and so is starvation, malaria. Much of what is going on in Africa is not out of our hands. A very little help can go a long way. $4.00 can cure a family of malaria. Drugs only available in western countries can give parents with AIDS a second chance to raise their children. A $10 Mosquito net can save a life in Africa. Supporting legislature that will help create fair trade with Africa and pressure unjust governments to reform are possible. You can help on the ground in Africa. Volunteering to go to Africa and work to help Africans in need help themselves will not only enrich their lives but change yours forever. All of these things are possible. The only real enemy to this vital help is indifference. It's time to care, and to do something about it. You can make a difference. Even a little help can do a lot for Africa.
The volunteers of the Yes! Africa! Project are currently focusing on developing six areas to awaken people to the humanitarian crisis in Africa and help people get involved:
1. Education
2. Advertising and Publicity
3. Special Events (Yes! Africa! Rock Festival)
4. Networking
5. Internships
6. Special Projects on the ground in Africa
